Ebenezer Brazilian Chartering Service

Maravilhoso, Marvelous! That is the word in both languages to describe the chartering service of Ebenezer Brazilian Presbyterian Church. Ebenezer is the second Brazilian church in our area and the first one in the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta.

2006 Immigrant Leaders Retreat

Saturday, February 18th, we had our Immigrant Leaders Retreat. We had 51 participants from many immigrant groups, Presbytery staff, and hosting churches liaisons. The topic was Immigration Issues that P.C.-U.S.A. faces ministering to the immigrant groups and the new State and Federal bills about immigration. Our keynote speaker was Julia Thorne, the P.C.-U.S.A. attorney called to handle immigration issues for the denomination.

Presbytery Rally Day
On February 9th, Presbyterians from all over the state gathered together at Central Presbyterian Church to discuss important issues that will be voted by Georgia General Assembly. Part of the program included a visit to the Capitol, meeting with Senators, and singing at the stairs of the Capital. The main topic was immigration.
